Frequently Asked Questions

How long are the sessions?

Individual sessions are 50 minutes. 90 minute sessions are available for a fee of $200.

Are sessions in person or online?

Currently I offer telehealth sessions only which means we will meet over a secure online video platform.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! I am in-network with UnitedHealthcare, Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) plans. If you have out-of-network mental health benefits with a different plan, I am happy to supply you with a superbill that will enable you to file an out-of-network claim with your insurance provider.

What are your available hours?

I am available from Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. I have a few evening slots available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.

How often will we meet and for how many sessions?

I typically meet with clients on a weekly basis, though some people prefer biweekly sessions. The number of sessions is dependent on your needs and goals and we will collaborate on this together.

What will our first session be like?

Our first session is an intake session where I will ask many questions to get a good understanding of your history, symptoms, goals, and current life circumstances. It’s also a chance for us to begin to build a connection and for you to get a feel for what it might be like to work together. While it’s a fairly structured session, there’s also space for you to talk about anything that feels important or pressing for you.

Is there a difference between counseling and therapy?

You might hear the words counseling and therapy used pretty interchangeably. Sometimes counseling describes shorter-term, specifically targeted interventions for clearly defined concerns, whereas therapy may involve more exploration of feelings, motivations, past history and traumas, etc. There can definitely be a lot of overlap in counseling and therapy. My approach is to utilize both counseling interventions and psychotherapeutic exploration as we work together on your concerns and goals.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Payment can be made be credit card, FSA or HSA card.
